Looks Like Some Snow May Be in Store for February! Are You Prepared with Salt?

As a premier provider of bulk deicing salt and other salts in Bucks County, PA and the rest of the Philadelphia metropolitan area, you can rest assured that we are keeping any eye out for what’s in store (and ends up not being in store) for our customers this winter season.

If you’ve been following us the past couple of months, you might have noticed that this past December we posted a blog titled, “Be Prepared with Bulk Salt for the Winter 2016-17 Season with Duke Transport,” that provided a brief overview of Mr. Glenn “Hurricane” Schwartz’s 2017 winter forecast.

Well, if you’ve read the blog (or not) here are a couple of key points from the article that you should keep in mind as we move through February and March:

  • There is a 10% chance the Philadelphia area will receive over 40 inches of snow.
  • February will be the snowiest month.
  • A Nor’easter will drop 10+ inches.

While we’d like to say that Mr. Schwartz’s forecast is correct, you never know what Old Man Winter’s going to throw at you. Especially after last winter (2015-16) ended up being one of the warmest the area has ever experienced!

However, according to 6abc Action News meteorologist Cecily Tynan’s Winter Weather Outlook, we will see cold temperatures, and you guessed it, SNOW. In fact, she even expects slightly above normal snowfall mid to late winter, with the Philadelphia area seeing anywhere from 24-30 inches of snow produced by multiple storms.

Now that it appears likely that “some” snow will fall, are you prepared with salt?

We have tons of bulk salt, treated rock salt aka “Magic Salt®,” and a whole bunch of other salt products.

What’s more, because of our close partnerships with our salt suppliers, we can offer you 50-pound bags of the company’s:

  • Halite Salt Crystals – a high purity salt that’s screened to obtain crystals that effectively melt snow and ice.
  • Glacier Gladiator – an advanced ice melter that effectively works at temperatures below zero.
  • Property Protector – an environmentally-friendly ice melt blend that also works at temperatures below zero, but has a green color to provide evidence that the ice melter was applied.

By choosing us as your bulk salt supplier this winter season, you’ll have everything you need to keep roads, sidewalks, parking lots, etc. clear of snow and ice.
